Maintain close scrutiny of wood laboratory equipment and tools. Perform custodian functions in laboratory maintenance. Assist the instructors in setting up lab demonstrations. Repair lab training aids and equipment. Close down and secure labs at the end of the day. Other miscellaneous tasks associated with the operation of a wood technology facility. Successful applicant must be able to use basic tools and equipment in wood technology and be capable of performing routine maintenance associated with facilities and typical woodworking equipment. Experience in this area is preferred. Hazards: Must adhere to all “Wood laboratory safety rules” and wear safety glasses and appropriate clothing and shoes when on duty. Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals and woodworking machines.
Students will also perform general office support including making/answering phone calls, emailing teachers, and collecting and disseminating data on recruiting efforts.
