Position Summary
The Digital Marketing & Creative Intern will help FSCC expand its in-house marketing capacity while gaining practical experience across social media, brand development, creative production, paid digital advertising, and streaming media. Working under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the intern will create content and help build repeatable systems—including an aligned social-media workflow, a branded Canva template library, organized campaign assets, and documentation FSCC can continue using after the internship.
Primary Responsibilities
· Social media content and coordination. Create and adapt graphics, captions, short-form video, Reels, Stories, and campaign content for Facebook, Instagram, and other assigned channels. Help maintain an organized content calendar and keep messaging and visuals aligned across platforms.
· Canva templates and creative systems. Build a reusable library of branded Canva templates for events, announcements, academic programs, athletics, recruitment, digital advertising, presentations, and other recurring communication needs. Organize templates so they are easy for authorized FSCC users to find and reuse.
· Rebranding support. Assist with research, asset organization, committee materials, visual exploration, and implementation tasks connected to FSCC’s rebranding process. After brand decisions are approved, help update templates and recurring materials to support consistent use across departments.
· Digital advertising. Assist with the setup, organization, creative development, quality checks, and reporting for in-house campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads, Meta/Facebook/Instagram, and potentially TikTok. Help document audiences, geographic targeting, budgets, campaign assets, results, and recommendations.
· OTT/CTV and streaming advertising. Research and organize opportunities involving connected television and streaming services, including platforms or inventory associated with Roku, Hulu, Prime Video, and similar channels. Help prepare video creative, technical specifications, audience and geographic targeting information, campaign files, and materials needed to coordinate with an outside media-buying partner. The intern will support this work under supervision rather than independently control major media buys.
· Creative production. Assist with photography, video, web graphics, digital signage, print-ready graphics, and other campaign assets. Resize, version, caption, and organize approved content for multiple channels.
· CTE and Perkins-related marketing. When assigned, develop accessible marketing content for eligible career and technical education programs, including outreach intended to reach special populations. Track project time and deliverables separately when required for grant documentation.
· Measurement and organization. Help maintain campaign folders, naming conventions, content inventories, calendars, and basic performance reports. Summarize engagement, clicks, reach, video performance, and other available measures to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
· Current college student pursuing marketing, graphic design, communication, public relations, digital media, broadcasting, photography/video, or a closely related field.
· Working knowledge of Canva and at least one or more social-media platforms; willingness to learn unfamiliar tools and advertising systems.
· Strong visual judgment, writing ability, attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
· Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, accept feedback, and revise work while maintaining brand consistency.
· Professional judgment when handling unpublished content, account access, student information, and institutional materials.
Preferred Experience
· Short-form video editing, photography, motion graphics, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, or comparable creative software.
· Coursework or project experience involving digital advertising, analytics, brand development, content strategy, or campaign planning.
· Experience creating accessible digital content, including readable design, captions, alt text, and platform-appropriate formatting.
Learning Outcomes
By the conclusion of the internship, the intern should be able to:
· Plan, produce, schedule, and evaluate coordinated content for multiple digital channels.
· Apply an institutional brand consistently across templates, campaigns, video, web, and print-related assets.
· Explain the basic structure of Google, Meta, social, and OTT/CTV advertising campaigns, including audience, geography, creative specifications, budget, placement, and reporting.
· Use performance data and feedback to recommend practical improvements to content and campaigns.
· Present a professional portfolio of approved work and explain the goals, process, and results behind selected projects.
Expected Internship Deliverables
· An organized social-media content calendar and repeatable content-development workflow.
· A categorized library of approved, reusable Canva templates and supporting brand assets.
· Rebranding research, asset inventories, committee support materials, and implementation work as assigned.
· Organized digital-ad and OTT/CTV campaign folders containing specifications, creative versions, targeting notes, approvals, and reporting materials.
· A final portfolio or presentation summarizing completed projects, skills developed, and recommendations for continued use.
Supervision and Work Standards
The Director of Marketing will establish priorities, provide access and training, review work, and give final approval before publication or paid placement. The intern will not independently publish sensitive institutional communications, commit FSCC funds, approve media contracts, or represent the College in negotiations unless specifically authorized. All work created within the internship must follow FSCC policies, accessibility expectations, copyright and licensing requirements, platform rules, and approved brand standards.
Application Materials
· Resume and brief statement of interest.
· Three to five work samples or a portfolio link; class projects are welcome.
· Optional: faculty reference or recommendation from the student’s academic program.
