Handshake (also known as Gorillas4Hire on campus) is Pittsburg State University’s centralized career management platform where students can research employers, search and apply for full-time, part-time, on-campus, internships, and temporary/seasonal positions, sign up for on-campus interviews, RSVP for Career Development events, and much more.

If you are an enrolled PSU student, your Handshake account should have been created automatically. Click the blue Login button and use your gus.pittstate.edu email and your Single Sign On (SSO) password.

Complete Your Profile 

  • Upload a resume and make a default resume public for employers to see 
  • Add a professional picture and bio 
  • Select as many skills as you have developed (Note: some employers search by skills instead of majors and experiences) 
  • Add your current and past work experiences (internships, on-campus jobs, part-time jobs, etc.) since graduating high school
  • Add any clubs, organizations, community service and residence hall involvement to show how well-rounded you are
  • Consider adding any interesting courses or projects you’ve worked on
