Royal Caribbean Technical Stage Staff Shipboard Positions
What we’re looking for:
Grad Dates: Open to candidates available to start in the near future
Location: Traveling the world at sea on a Royal Caribbean Ship
Dates: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Full-Time Contract (includes salary, travel, lodging, meals, and health coverage)
Work Authorization: Open to all US students (including those that may require visa sponsorship in the future)
Technical Stage Staff (STAT) are the backbone of our entertainment technical operations onboard. From licensed Broadway and West End shows in the Main Theater to original productions in our state-of-the-art ice skating arena, AquaTheater, and Two70, STATs provide essential backstage support to entertainment teams across 29 ships.
Responsibilities
- Pre-show prop/set assembly
- Backstage support during rehearsals and performances (operating spotlights and audio equipment)
- Post-show teardown and storage
- Maintenance and repair projects
- Technical assistance during other guest activities and functions
Requirements
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of theatrical or stage productions
- 1–2 years of experience handling stage equipment and props or operating audio and lighting for live events preferred
- High school diploma or degree in Technical Theater, Sound, Lights, or A/V Technology preferred
- Ability to pass company-required medical evaluation
- Participation in emergency drills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Effective communication and emergency response onboard
